PrestonGirlsSecondaryCollegeisasinglecampus,year7-12governmentgirls’school.Establishedin1928,thecollege,locatedinthecentreofPreston,providesforaverydiversemulticulturalcommunity.
Thestudentpopulation,numbersinthemid300's,aremadeupof35%ofstudentsarefromaLanguageBackgroundOtherthanEnglishandwerebornoverseas.Studentsenteringtheschoolarefrom38differentcountriesand40differentlanguagesspokenathome.
ThePathwaysCo-ordinatorworkswith studentstodeveloptheirindividuallearningplansandfuturedirections.TheCollegeisamemberoftheNorthernMelbourneVETCluster.Studentsfromyears10to12areabletoundertakeVETstudiesandSchoolBasedApprenticeships,inconjunctionwiththeirVCEorVCALstudies
TheCollegeoffersarangeofextensionandenrichmentactivitiesincludinganinstrumentalmusicprogram,debatingandpublicspeaking(intraandinterschool),intraschoolhousecompetitionsinsportsandperformance,interschoolsportsandperformances.StudentsenterarangeofcompetitionsincludingthePlainEnglishSpeakingAward,LionsYouthoftheYear,TournamentofMindsandUniversitysponsoredcompetitionsinEnglishandMathematics.

In2003attheColleges'75thBirthdaycelebration,apaststudents’associationwasformed.Withmanyactivepaststudents, theassociationislookingtowardsprovidingsupportanddevelopmentopportunitiesforandtotheCollegenowandintothefuture.Theseconnectionshavebeenreaffirmedthroughthe80thBirthdaycelebrationsconductedonthe12th&13thofSeptember2008.

TheCollegeprogramisdesignedtoprovidestudentswithsoundlearningfoundationsinyears7-10whichaddressindividualabilities,needsandinterests.
