  Formerly John Forrest Senior High School, from 2011 our school becomes John Forrest Secondary College and will commence as an Independent Public School within the Government school system. Built in 1961 and named after the first premier of Western Australia, Sir John Forrest, John Forrest Secondary College will continue the school's proud tradition of excellence in both the achievement of its students and the quality and range of programs on offer.

  John Forrest Secondary College is a progressive, comprehensive college catering for approximately 650 students. The college draws its population from across the metropolitan area and from a wide range of socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.

  John Forrest is situated on major bus routes including the Circle Route. It is located beside the City of Bayswater Council gardens and very near the Morley Exchange Bus Station. It is also located close to a wide range of community facilities accessed to support college programs.

  John Forrest Secondary College promotes excellence in all areas of learning. The extensive range of specialist facilities that support the college's learning programs includes a new state-of-the-art Trade Training Centre, specialist classrooms for Home Economics, Science, Photography, Music, Art, Design & Technology, Media, Drama, Languages and Information Technology as well as a Pre Vocational Centre, five computer laboratories, a Gymnasium, a Dance Studio, a Library Resource Centre and a turf wicket. Full integration of technology into the teaching and learning activities is supported through the provision of a sophisticated computer network.

  A wide range of programs at John Forrest offer extended learning opportunities for students. These include:

  Academic Challenge - a college based extension program for students in Years 8 to 10.

  Approved Specialist Programs in the areas of Cricket, Netball, Tennis and Music.

  A well established INSTEP program providing individualised vocational and workplace learning opportunities to over 100 students.

  Enrichment programs providing extra support in the areas of literacy and numeracy.

  Cadets - A Bush Ranger program.

  Pre-apprenticeship and college based Apprenticeship Programs ie Plumbing and Painting.

  Our college boasts a strong pastoral care tradition and a student services team that competently and effectively responds to the needs of students. REO (Respect Each Other) is a whole college program that promotes the development and maintenance of positive working relationships across the college.
